Alumni Engagement and Professional Development Unit
"The Alumni Engagement and Professional Development Unit" of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) is a structural division responsible for supporting the professional development and employment of students and graduates, strengthening cooperation with employers, and ensuring the effective organization of internship and career-related processes.
Core Functions of the Unit:
• Regular monitoring of graduate employment;
• Negotiating and building partnerships with employers;
• Providing career consultations for students and alumni;
• Collecting internship quotas from partner organizations;
• Managing official correspondence related to internships;
• Preparing cooperation documents, including MoUs and partnership agreements;
• Coordinating student internship and traineeship processes;
• Organizing major career events such as Career Week, Career Fair, and HR Days;
• Maintaining ongoing communication with ministries, agencies, and private companies;
• Preparing analytical reports on student and graduate employment trends.
Key Responsibilities of the Unit:
• Organizing and monitoring student internships and traineeships;
• Implementing joint cooperation plans with government bodies and private-sector partners;
• Developing and maintaining a comprehensive employment database for graduates;
• Conducting career seminars, training sessions, workshops, and employer meetings;
• Serving as the main coordinator for UWED’s large-scale events — Career Week and Career Fair;
• Facilitating student placement in government agencies, international organizations, and private companies;
• Introducing corporate internship programs in cooperation with employers;
• Overseeing the implementation of signed memorandums and cooperation agreements;
• Strengthening alumni relations and developing the UWED alumni network.

UWED students have the opportunity to complete internships in leading government institutions, research centers, and major private companies across the country:
In the government sector, students intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, as well as the “El-yurt umidi” Foundation, the Youth Affairs Agency, and various agencies under different ministries.
In the research and analytical sphere, internships are offered at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies, the Parliamentary Research Institute, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, the International Institute of Central Asia, and other leading think tanks.
