    A Psychological Seminar-Training Was Organized at the Student Dormitory Complex

    A psychological seminar-training and roundtable discussion was organized for students residing at the Student Dormitory Complex through the collaboration of N. Norova, psychologist of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and F. Ernazarova, specialist of the Youth Affairs Office. The main objective of the event was to stabilize students’ emotional and psychological well-being, foster a positive mindset, strengthen interpersonal communication and relationships, as well as prevent stress-related conditions. The seminar-training was held with the aim of creating a healthy psychological environment among students and supporting their social adaptation. During the seminar-training, practical exercises aimed at fostering a positive communication atmosphere among students were conducted. In particular, participants exchanged kind words, sincere wishes, and supportive messages, which helped strengthen feelings of mutual respect, compassion, and solidarity. These activities contributed to enhancing positive emotions, providing psychological relief, and increasing mutual trust among students. In addition, during the roundtable discussion, important psychological recommendations were provided on spending leisure time and vacation periods meaningfully, preventing negative emotional states, managing stress, and maintaining psychological stability. Students received detailed and practical answers from specialists to their questions. This seminar-training became one of the effective initiatives aimed at creating a healthy psychological environment at the Student Dormitory Complex, providing comprehensive support to students, and enhancing their social adaptation.

    Student Forum on Sustainable Development Goals at UWED

    On 22 December 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy  successfully hosted the Student Forum on the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Uzbekistan, jointly organized by the Department of International Economics and the Department of English Language. The event brought together first- and second-year students of the International Economics and Management faculty and served as an academic competition aimed at promoting sustainable development thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and professional communication skills. The Forum was designed as a student-centered academic platform where participants explored how the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals can be applied to Uzbekistan’s national context. Working in teams, students conducted research, prepared policy briefs, delivered PowerPoint presentations, and participated in panel discussions, all in professional English. Their proposals addressed pressing economic, environmental, and social challenges, including air quality, renewable energy, waste management, public health, and green infrastructure. A distinctive feature of the Forum was its competitive format, which encouraged students to demonstrate not only subject knowledge but also analytical depth, teamwork, and feasibility of proposed solutions. An expert jury evaluated the teams based on clearly defined criteria, including content quality, relevance to SDGs, clarity of presentation, and practical impact of recommendations. Following the final presentations and deliberations, the winners of the Forum were announced. 1st Place was awarded to the AirVengers Team (IEM 1st year students): Normatova Shahzoda, Abdullayev Avazbek, and Ikromova Shahnoza.  2nd Place was awarded to the Edenwell Team (IEM 1st year students): Zaynutdinova Durdona, Bahriddinov Durbek, and G‘oyibnazarov Suhrobbek.  3rd Place was awarded to the EcoStep Team (IEM 1st year students): Qo‘ldasheva Sevara, Rahmatjonova Marhabo, and Turatova Maxbuba. All participating teams were awarded certificates in recognition of their academic achievement and active engagement. The Forum demonstrated UWED’s strong commitment to fostering globally minded, socially responsible graduates capable of addressing real-world challenges through research, critical thinking, and effective communication. The ideas generated during the event were consolidated into a Student Forum Resolution, which will be shared with relevant academic and institutional stakeholders.

    On December 17 of the current year, the faculty members of the Department of International Law and Public Law Disciplines of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy — Z. Israilova, Sh. Khamdamova, and D. Soliyev — organized a practical roundtable discussion entitled “Gender Equality and Social Inclusion: A Local-Level SDG Approach” and “SDGs and Social Justice: The Role of Local Policy.” The event was attended by the chairperson of the mahalla citizens’ assembly, an assistant to the khokim, a social worker, a youth leader, a mahalla inspector, a women’s rights activist, as well as respected community representatives and students. The event was held with the aim of promoting the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations at the local level in the Republic of Uzbekistan, strengthening cooperation between the state and society, and providing legal support for reforms prioritizing human interests. During the roundtable, participants representing local government bodies, mahalla institutions, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and the expert community engaged in a comprehensive discussion of issues related to gender equality, social inclusion, social justice, and education. Particular emphasis was placed on women’s and youth participation in decision-making processes, ensuring equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, supporting socially vulnerable population groups, and improving the quality of social services. In the course of the discussions, participants focused on practical mechanisms for aligning local policies and territorial development programs with SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Special attention was also given to gender-responsive and socially just local budget planning, targeted and transparent allocation of resources, improving systems for handling citizens’ appeals, and the application of SDGs within ongoing education reforms. As a result of the roundtable, the importance of introducing a monitoring and evaluation system for the implementation of SDGs at the local level, as well as identifying concrete practical approaches to the development of the education system, was emphasized. The event served as an important platform for practical dialogue supporting reforms aimed at sustainable development, social responsibility, and the protection of human dignity within the local governance framework.

    The UWED held a Master's Class on International Construction Contracts within The Framework of The Implementation of SDGs

    On 17 December this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a master class on the subject of “International Commercial Transactions” for first-year master's students studying “International Business Law” and “International Commercial Arbitration and Dispute Resolution” on the topic “International Construction Contracts”. The master class was organised by Professor Imamova Dilfuza of the Department of Civil Law and International Private Law. The master class was led by a partner at the MY LAWYER law firm, a practising lawyer in the field of international arbitration and construction law, a certified FIDIC contract trainer, a member of the FIDIC Asia Pacific Future Leaders Executive Committee, and a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (London) and the Dispute Resolution Council Foundation, Feruza Bobokulova, was invited to conduct the master class. During the master class, Feruza Bobokulova revealed in detail the legal nature of international construction contracts, highlighted the features of FIDIC contracts, and shared her practical experience in concluding such contracts and resolving disputes arising from them. This allowed master's students to clearly link theoretical knowledge with practice. The master's students showed great interest in the topic, actively participated in the discussion, asked relevant questions, and received substantive and reasoned answers. This master class directly contributes to the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”, in particular paragraph 16.3, which aims to strengthen the rule of law and ensure equal access to justice, as well as Sustainable Development Goal 17 “Partnerships for sustainable development”, in particular paragraph 17.6, which provides for strengthening international cooperation in science, technology and innovation and expanding access to them. The master class made a significant contribution to the development of academic dialogue, strengthening the interaction between theory and practice, and improving the educational process.

    UWED students organized a charity event as part of their support for the SDGs, as well as initiatives in the field of “Food Security and Nutrition”

    Within the framework of the course “Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals,” second-year students of the “International Relations” program at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy carried out a charitable initiative aimed at providing assistance to socially vulnerable groups of the population suffering from a lack of daily food supplies. The project was implemented with the active support and inspiring guidance of Associate Professor A.M. Radjabova of the Department of International Relations. The students noted that their involvement in such charitable activities as volunteers brought them a strong sense of satisfaction and social responsibility. The student team provided practical assistance by delivering food supplies to a group of citizens living in areas adjacent to the Mirzo Ulugbek district who are experiencing social and economic difficulties and are in need of social support. This event became a vivid example of the social responsibility demonstrated by UWED youth. The participants emphasized that taking part in the project helped them gain a deeper understanding of the importance of solidarity and humanitarian values. They also highlighted that even small actions, when driven by a sincere desire to help, can have a significant impact. The team expressed its readiness to continue such initiatives in the future, striving to contribute to the development of a caring and socially responsible society.

    On 16 December this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a master class on the subject of “International Commercial Transactions” for first-year master's students studying “International Business Law” and “International Commercial Arbitration and Dispute Resolution”. The topic of the master class was “Concession Agreements and Public-Private Partnership Agreements”. The master class was organised by Professor Imamova Dilfuza of the Department of Civil Law and International Private Law. Yunusov Dostonbek, a practising specialist and lawyer with the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was invited to conduct the master class. During the master class, Yunusov Dostonbek discussed in detail the features of concession agreements and public-private partnership agreements, as well as conducted a comparative analysis of them. He shared his practical experience in applying these mechanisms, which allowed master's students to clearly link theoretical knowledge with practice. The master's students showed great interest in the topics discussed, actively participated in the discussion, asked questions about the legal nature and practice of implementing concession agreements and public-private partnership agreements, and received substantive and reasoned answers. This master class directly contributes to the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 17, “Partnerships for the Goals”, in particular paragraph 17.6, which calls for strengthening international cooperation in science, technology and innovation, as well as expanding access to them. As a result, the master class contributed to the development of international cooperation, knowledge sharing and the expansion of educational opportunities in the field of international commercial transactions, making a significant contribution to the development of academic dialogue, strengthening the interaction between theory and practice, and improving the educational process.

    On December 12, 2025, under the leadership of Acting Associate Professor of the Department of International Economics at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Kh.R. Karimova, and Senior Lecturer F.A. Bekmuradova, together with second-year students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, a study visit was conducted to Family Clinic No. 4, where the university's staff and students are assigned. The main purpose of this visit was to familiarize the students with the activities of the primary health care system, the content of medical services provided to the population, and the socioeconomic significance of healthcare institutions. During the visit, students learned about the services provided by Family Clinic No. 4, including initial medical examinations, preventive screenings, vaccinations, specialist appointments, laboratory and diagnostic services, and maternal and child health services. Students also received a detailed explanation of the clinic's application process, the electronic queuing system, registration mechanisms, medical record management, and doctors' appointment schedules. Clinic staff also provided detailed explanations on promoting a healthy lifestyle, disease prevention, and the quality of services provided to the population. This visit helped students develop a practical understanding of the role of the healthcare system in socioeconomic development, its importance in human capital development, and ways to improve the efficiency of public services. The visit was organized in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aimed to enhance students' social responsibility, understand the importance of the healthcare system, and facilitate the connection between theory and practice. During the visit, students learned about primary healthcare services and gained important knowledge and skills in improving public health and well-being (SDG 3), developing high-quality and practice-oriented education (SDG 4), ensuring social justice and reducing inequalities (SDG 10), and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and the healthcare system (SDG 17). In summary, this visit made a significant contribution to enhancing students' social responsibility, deepening their understanding of the role of the healthcare system in economic and social development, and fostering a practical understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.

    On 11 December 2025, the German language division of the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages at UWED organized a student scientific-practical conference titled “Global Development and the Issues of Uzbekistan’s Sustainable Development Strategy.” The conference was organized based on the practical implementation of the tasks included in the 4th and 17th UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as provisions of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education” and the Law “On State Youth Policy,” which define the development of youth scientific potential and involvement in research activities as one of the key priorities of state policy. In addition, in line with the tasks set out in the “National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Sustainable Development,” the event aimed to ensure active participation of young people in sustainable development processes. The conference was attended by university administration; Barbara Anna Bernsmeier, Director of the Goethe-Institut Tashkent, Dildora Mukhammadaminova, Head of the Language Department of the Goethe-Institut Tashkent, Yusuf Ismailov, Director of the Uzbekistan-Germany Friendship Society, Andrea Weiss, coordinator of the GURES program (German-Uzbek Relations: Energy and Sustainable Development) and of the joint sustainable development study program between UWED and the Free University of Berlin, Associate Professor of the Foreign Languages Department of Tashkent State University of Law, Muyassarxon Rakhimovna Bakhriddinova, students, German intern at the UWED academic lyceum, Lisa Ghirardini, German volunteer Thore Ermscher, students of Chirchik State Pedagogical University, students of the National University of Uzbekistan, Head of the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages at UWED, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Vasila Akramdjanovna Mamatkasimova,German language teachers U. Sultonova, Sh. Abduganieva, K. Istamova, G. Asatova, A. Narmatova, S. Hamroqulova, as well as students studying German as a first and second foreign language. The main goal of the conference was to deepen the students’ scientific understanding of global development processes, worldwide economic changes, and issues of environmental sustainability, as well as to promote proposals and initiatives related to Uzbekistan’s national development strategy. The conference addressed theoretical and practical aspects of sustainable development and discussed pressing social, economic and environmental issues, including: existing barriers to implementing Uzbekistan’s Sustainable Development Strategy and ways to overcome them; ensuring balance between economic growth and environmental safety; challenges in introducing a green economy and innovative technologies; issues related to climate change and rational use of natural resources; difficulties in applying sustainability principles in education, healthcare, employment, and social justice; modernization of public administration and strengthening the role of civil society; and the challenges of adapting international experience to national conditions. During the conference, scientific presentations by students were heard. They presented the results of their research on global energy security, regional integration processes, efficiency of economic diplomacy, environmental management, climate change adaptation, and improving population welfare. Discussions, Q&A sessions, and expert opinions were also organized. Specialists provided scientifically grounded recommendations and suggested directions to enhance the practical relevance of students’ research. At the end of the conference, the authors of the best research papers were awarded certificates. The event contributed to strengthening the scientific potential of students, developing their analytical thinking skills, and motivating further research in the field of sustainable development. This scientific-practical conference provided students with an opportunity to deeply analyze global processes, study national development policies on a scientific basis, and put forward new ideas. The event strengthened the academic environment at the university and contributed to the development of young researchers' potential.

    UWED - Campus France: Meeting on study opportunities in France

    On December 11, 2025, a meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in cooperation with the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages with the participation of the representative of the Campus France agency at the French Embassy in Uzbekistan, coordinator for cooperation with universities Alice Moth. The event was organized for students studying French and interested in studying in France. During the meeting, the participants were provided with detailed information about the possibilities of studying in France at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels, the stages of the admission process, the procedure for applying online, the requirements for language certificates, as well as the costs of tuition and living expenses. Alice Mot spoke about grant and scholarship programs offered by the French government and universities, the criteria for choosing a suitable city and university for students, and also shared practical recommendations for using the Campus France platform. The event was held in the active form of questions and answers. Students asked questions about the visa process, insurance, daily life of students, ways to improve their level of French, additional financial sources and internship opportunities in France, and a representative of Campus France provided detailed answers to them. This meeting will serve to strengthen international educational mobility and inter-institutional cooperation in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 – "Quality Education" and SDG 17 – "Partnership for the Goals". The event in practice supports the strategic goals of UWED to strengthen its position in international rankings and create broad academic and cultural opportunities for students.
