    The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) was established on September 23, 1992 and was included in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    It is a basic higher educational institution that provides training, retraining and advanced training for specialists and scientific and pedagogical personnel, conducting high-level fundamental and scientific and applied research in the following areas:

    • International Economy and Management;
    • International Relations
    • Political Science;
    • International Public and Private Law

    Currently, there are 3 faculties:

    • International Relations
    • International Economy and Management
    • International Law

    The following departments operate in the system of university faculties:

    • Department of International Law and Public Law Sciences
    • Department of International Finance and Investments

    • Department of Systematic Analysis and Mathematical Modeling

    In addition, the "Language Education Center" has the following departments:

    • Department of Uzbek and Russian languages
    • Department of English
    • Department of Romano-Germanic languages
    • Department of Oriental Languages

    The main tasks and activities of the university:

    Quality training of international experts in the field of foreign policy and foreign economic activity of the republic based on the use of advanced foreign experience, including modern innovative, pedagogical technologies and scientific developments, effective coordination of the activities of educational and research institutions of the republic;

    To deepen the independent preparation of students, to strengthen the practical content of educational plans and programs aimed at ensuring the formation and development of analytical thinking, stable professional skills, high spiritual, moral and patriotic qualities, and the practical orientation of the educational process;

    To create an effective system of retraining international personnel and improving their qualifications in order to form a constantly updated reserve of promising personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other interested ministries and agencies;

    Fundamentally increase the effectiveness of fundamental and applied research aimed at developing international relations, cooperation with foreign partners, systematic evaluations and prospects for the development of the country's foreign policy and foreign economic activity;

    Training of highly qualified and scientific-pedagogical personnel in priority areas of international relations;

    Organization of training of qualified professional translators and guides in official meetings aimed at providing high level support to official events and delegations of foreign countries, using modern methods and means of training.

    Education

    The university has about 2,000 students (undergraduate and graduate), including international students from Canada, Japan, China, Korea, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan.

    The composition of university professors and teachers is 160 of which 17 are professors, 17 are doctors of science, and 52 are candidates of science.

    Foreign professors and teachers from leading educational institutions of countries such as Great Britain, Japan, Korea, and Poland are invited to the educational process on a permanent basis. Among the professors, representatives of the largest universities of Germany, USA, Spain, France, Great Britain, Slovakia and other countries visit and give lectures.

    The duration of studying at the university for undergraduate courses is 4 years.
