The Center for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG HUB) has been established at UWED

On April 18, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) established the Sustainable Development Goals Center (SDG HUB). This initiative was launched in accordance with the decision of the university’s Academic Council, the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the UWED Charter, and the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The establishment of the center aims to promote the SDGs adopted by the United Nations for implementation by 2030, especially among youth and university students, and to engage them in scientific, social, and innovative activities.
The SDG HUB operates along the following key directions:
· Organizing seminars, training sessions, and academic conferences on SDG-related topics;
· Implementing social and environmental projects;
· Developing educational courses and master classes aligned with the SDGs;
· Expanding research and international cooperation;
· Enhancing students' social engagement and leadership capacities.
The organizational structure of the center includes: a coordinator (director), deputy director, advisor, secretariat, analytical team, moderators, and a public relations group. Positions are filled through elections among active student members.
Membership in the SDG HUB is voluntary and open to both students and staff. The center functions in collaboration with international organizations such as the UN, UNICEF, and UNDP, as well as with local NGOs and other higher education institutions. Its funding sources include university resources, international grants, and sponsorship support.
The SDG HUB serves as a vital academic and socio-innovative platform for UWED students, providing opportunities for initiative, leadership in sustainable development, and active contribution to achieving global objectives.
