The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a “Literary Evening”, which marked the culmination of the year's activities for the “Maska” student club, organized by the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages.

Throughout the academic year, the club's members—more than 20 students from the faculties of International Relations, International Economic Relations, and International Law—engaged in systematic work that inseparably combined mastering Russian as a second language with an in-depth study of classic Russian literature.

The key creative result of this activity was a stage production of Anton Chekhov's play “The Cherry Orchard”. The performance demonstrated the students' high level of skill, deep engagement, and mastery of public speaking.

The evening's program also included a recitation contest, where students presented selected works by classic and contemporary authors, showcasing their individual approach to choosing material and their expressive delivery. Following the contest, the most outstanding students were awarded commemorative gifts.

The event served as a successful platform for student self-expression, allowing them to integrate their knowledge of literature into the development of their communication skills. The success of the evening has laid the foundation for holding similar events on a regular basis.
