Opportunities for Using Green Energy Sources for Sustainable Development

On April 21, 2025, as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Month, the Department of International Economics at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized a student competition focused on green energy sources and their significance for sustainable development. The event attracted first- and second-year students as well as other participants interested in advancing a green economy in Uzbekistan.
The competition was conducted in the format of interactive presentations. Participants were divided into four groups, each preparing and presenting on one of the following topics:
· Solar Energy
· Wind Energy
· Hydro Energy
· Biomass
According to the jury’s evaluation, the “Solar Energy” team secured first place, while the “Biomass” team came in second.
Special attention was given to Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG-7): “Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.” The competition served as a meaningful contribution to raising environmental awareness and promoting the future of green energy in Uzbekistan.
