A Literary and Artistic evening dedicated to the memory of eminent writers held at UWED

On April 16, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a high-level literary and artistic evening dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Uzbek poetess Saida Zunnunova and the 85th anniversary of the Hero of Uzbekistan and National Poet Abdulla Oripov.
The event aimed to widely promote the creative heritage of these two major figures of Uzbek literature. It sought to instill in the youth the values of patriotism, loyalty, humanism, and spiritual purity reflected in their works.
The gathering was attended by university professors, students, literature enthusiasts, and intellectuals. During the evening, selected masterpieces of the poets were recited, and theatrical performances depicting their lives and careers were presented. The poetic compositions performed by students with great skill left a profound impression on the audience.
Within the framework of the literary evening, creative discussions highlighted the contemporary significance of their legacy and their invaluable contribution to the development of national literature. Speakers noted the philosophical depth of Abdulla Oripov’s poetry and the sincerity and vividness of Saida Zunnunova’s works.
The event featured distinguished guests: Rukhsora Oripova, daughter of Abdulla Oripov and member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, and Mavluda Zoxidova, a poetess, member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, and recipient of the “Sog‘lom avlod uchun” Order. They shared personal memories and heartfelt wishes. At the conclusion of the event, the importance of organizing such educational and cultural meetings on a regular basis was emphasized.
