    UWED Students Become Winners of the International Olympiad OMOUS-2026

    The VI Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students — Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students – OMOUS-2026 — is one of the prestigious international platforms aimed at identifying and supporting talented students with strong mathematical training and advanced analytical thinking skills.

    The Olympiad was held on March 23–28, 2026, in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) and brought together 87 teams, including 51 international teams, highlighting its high global status. Participants represented a wide range of countries, including Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany, Greece, Iran, Hungary, the Netherlands, Tajikistan, and the United Arab Emirates. Alongside international teams, students from leading universities of Turkmenistan also actively participated.

    The participation of 1st–2nd year students from the Faculty of International Economics and Management of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) was organized by the Department of System Analysis and Mathematical Modeling. The team was trained under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Shodmon Turdiyev, who provided comprehensive academic guidance and support.

    UWED students achieved outstanding results, winning a total of 6 medals: 4 gold and 2 silver, which is among the best results among international teams.

    Gold medalists: Maqsadbek Egamberdiyev, Yusufjon Ortikov, Izzatbek Abdulhamidov, Behruzbek Erkinov.

    Silver medalists: Nurbek Bakhtiyorov, Humoyunbek Gulimmatov

    These results confirm the high level of students’ academic preparation and their ability to successfully compete on the international stage.

    The achievements at OMOUS-2026 continue UWED’s strong track record of success in international mathematical competitions. Previously, UWED students became prize winners of the RUDN Math Olymp 2025, demonstrating a high level of fundamental knowledge and analytical thinking. The team has also successfully participated in the Siberian Mathematical Contest and a number of national-level olympiads, reflecting a systematic approach to student training.

    Consistently high performance of UWED students reflects the effectiveness of the university’s educational strategy, which focuses on developing fundamental knowledge, research and analytical competencies, and preparing specialists capable of operating in a globally competitive environment.

    The successful performance of UWED students at OMOUS-2026 contributes to strengthening the university’s international academic reputation, expanding scientific and educational cooperation, and enhancing the global competitiveness of its graduates.
