    Delegation from the Utah State Senate Visits the University of World Economy and Diplomacy

    On May 15, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Utah State Senate (USA), headed by President of the Utah Senate Stuart Adams and former U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye and Chairman of the World Trade Center Utah, Jeff Flake.

    The delegation included high-ranking representatives from Utah's legislative and executive branches, business community, and academic institutions.

    At the beginning of the meeting, the American side was briefed on the ongoing socio-political and socio-economic reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the key priorities of the country's renewed foreign policy.

    The delegation was also presented with an overview of UWED’s capabilities and potential areas for cooperation with American universities. Particular attention was given to academic exchange programs, the implementation of joint research projects through the UWED-based Center for American Studies at IAIS, and the development of Executive Education programs for government officials in areas such as economics, finance, and management.

    Special emphasis was placed on the prospects for cooperation in the field of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence.

    Senate President Stuart Adams noted the impressive pace of reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed admiration for the determination and potential of the Uzbek people.

    Stirling Foundation President M. Hansen expressed readiness to support the implementation of joint Executive Education programs with the participation of Utah universities, as well as the organization of visits by American experts to the Center for American Studies at IAIS.

    During the exchange of views, both sides expressed confidence in the sustainable development of the partnership and emphasized the importance of strengthening academic, cultural, and humanitarian ties.
