On March 25, 2026, within the framework of the course “Modern International Relations, World Economy and Interests of Uzbekistan”, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Ufuk Ulutas gave a lecture on the topic “The situation in the Middle East. Strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey in countering threats and ensuring regional stability”.

During the lecture, the ambassador focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey. It was also emphasized that the cultural closeness of the two peoples, common interests, a high level of trust and mutual understanding between the heads of state are important factors in strengthening the strategic partnership.

As noted, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey today is developing not symbolically or episodically, but on a consistent and institutionalized basis. Both countries consider economic ties as a priority. In particular, the active participation of Turkish business in the economic and social life of Uzbekistan is a vivid example of this.

Along with this, the lecture paid attention to transport and logistics issues. In particular, it was noted that the fact that Uzbekistan is a landlocked country, and Turkey widely uses maritime transport, gives rise to certain challenges in some issues. In this context, it was emphasized that projects of regional connectivity and initiatives to form wider economic spaces are of particular importance.

At the end of the event, Ufuk Ulutas answered all the questions of students in detail.
