The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted an official visit of the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) headed by the President of the CASS, Mr. Gao Xiang.

The visit was a landmark event in the development of Uzbek-Chinese relations, which are currently at the stage of comprehensive strategic partnership. During the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of academic diplomacy as a sustainable intellectual foundation for interstate dialogue.

The key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The document is aimed at the development of joint scientific research, academic exchanges, the preparation of analytical publications and the implementation of educational programs in the field of international relations, the world economy and the study of modern China.

The central event of the program was the opening of the Center for Works of Xi Jinping and Modern China at the UWED, which will become a multifunctional academic platform for studying the Chinese model of development, public administration, modernization and international initiatives of the PRC. The center will be actively used for training sessions, scientific seminars, round tables and expert discussions.

During the visit, the significant support of the Chinese side in the development of the digital educational infrastructure of the UWED was also noted. The university received 110 modern computers, server equipment and technical means, which will significantly expand the opportunities for digital learning and research activities.

Special attention was paid to the lecture of Professor Yang Kaizhong on the topic “The Logic of the Miracle of China's Modernization”, which aroused great interest among the faculty and staff of the university.

The parties expressed confidence that the cooperation between UWED and CASS will be long-term and practice-oriented, contributing to the deepening of scientific dialogue and the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of international relations.
