    On October 24 of this year, the First Vice-Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Director of the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAMR) Akram Umarov took part in the international scientific conference “Research in Action 2025: Research Intersections Amid Era of Complexity”, held at the British Management University (BMU).

    The event, co-organised with the Cambridge Central Asia Forum, brought together leading academics, experts and academics from the UK, Central Asia and India.

    The conference was devoted to the issues of regional development, sustainable growth and interaction of business, science and institutions in the context of increasing global complexity.

    Within the framework of the session “Forces Shaping Global & Regional Development”, A. Umarov presented a report on the new phase of regional integration in Central Asia.

    In his speech, he stressed that after 2016, the region entered a new stage of cooperation, characterized by growing political trust, intensification of diplomatic contacts and liberalization of economic ties between the countries of Central Asia.

    During the event, the topics of global and regional development trends, sustainable economic models, as well as institutional reforms in the countries of Central Asia and beyond were discussed.
