The University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a two-day training seminar organized for Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan carrying out diplomatic activities abroad. The seminar was held on January 19-20 and was aimed at improving the professional qualifications of the diplomatic corps, as well as discussing topical issues of modern foreign policy, international relations and parliamentary diplomacy.
On the first day of the seminar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Alisher Fayzullayev delivered a lecture on the topic &ldquo;Modern Diplomatic Negotiations&rdquo;, who highlighted the key approaches and practical aspects of conducting diplomatic negotiations in the context of the transformation of the international system. 
Then, Professor Nishanbai Sirojiddinov, Doctor of Economics, presented the report &ldquo;Uzbekistan in modern global and regional integration processes&rdquo;, paying special attention to economic diplomacy and the country's participation in international integration formats.
On the second day of the seminar, the program was devoted to analytical and strategic issues of foreign policy. Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science Rustam Makhmudov delivered a lecture on &ldquo;Methodology of Strategic Analysis of Modern International Relations&rdquo;, where the tools of strategic thinking and forecasting of international processes were considered. 
Executive Director of the El-yurt Umidi Foundation, Professor Gulnoza Ismayilova presented the prospects of the Foundation's international cooperation, emphasizing its role in the training of highly qualified personnel and the development of human capital.
A special place in the program was occupied by the speeches of the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev. In his speech, he dwelt in detail on the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, as well as on the priority areas of the country's foreign policy. A separate report was devoted to the role and features of parliamentary diplomacy in modern international relations.
This seminar has become an important platform for a professional exchange of views, strengthening the analytical skills of the diplomatic corps and developing common approaches to the implementation of foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

В Университет мировой экономики и дипломатии состоялся двухдневный учебный семинар, организованный для Чрезвычайных и Полномочных Послов Республики Узбекистан, осуществляющих дипломатическую деятельность за рубежом. Семинар прошёл 19&ndash;20 января и был направлен на повышение профессиональной квалификации дипломатического корпуса, а также обсуждение актуальных вопросов современной внешней политики, международных отношений и парламентской дипломатии. 
В первый день семинара с лекцией на тему &laquo;Современные дипломатические переговоры&raquo; выступил Чрезвычайный и Полномочный Посол, доктор политических наук, профессор Алишер Файзуллаев, который осветил ключевые подходы и практические аспекты ведения дипломатических переговоров в условиях трансформации международной системы. 
Затем профессор Нишанбай Сирожиддинов, доктор экономических наук, представил доклад &laquo;Узбекистан в современных глобальных и региональных интеграционных процессах&raquo;, уделив особое внимание экономической дипломатии и участию страны в международных интеграционных форматах. 
Во второй день семинара программа была посвящена аналитическим и стратегическим вопросам внешней политики. Доцент кафедры политологии Рустам Махмудов выступил с лекцией &laquo;Методология стратегического анализа современных международных отношений&raquo;, где были рассмотрены инструменты стратегического мышления и прогнозирования международных процессов. 
Исполнительный директор фонда &laquo;El-yurt umidi&raquo;, профессор Гульноза Исмаилова представила тему перспектив международного сотрудничества фонда, подчеркнув его роль в подготовке высококвалифицированных кадров и развитии человеческого капитала. 
Особое место в программе заняли выступления Первого заместителя Председателя Сената Республики Узбекистан, ректора Университета мировой экономики и дипломатии Содыка Сафоева. В своём выступлении он подробно остановился на Послании Президента Республики Узбекистан Ш.М. Мирзиёева Олий Мажлису и народу Узбекистана, а также на приоритетных направлениях внешнеполитической деятельности страны. Отдельный доклад был посвящён роли и особенностям парламентской дипломатии в современных международных отношениях. 
Проведение данного семинара стало важной площадкой для профессионального обмена мнениями, укрепления аналитических навыков дипломатического корпуса и выработки единых подходов к реализации внешнеполитических приоритетов Республики Узбекистан.

Jahon iqtisodiyoti va diplomatiya universitetida O&lsquo;zbekiston Respublikasining chet eldagi Favqulodda va muxtor elchilari uchun ikki kunlik o&lsquo;quv seminari tashkil etildi. Seminar 19-20 yanvar kunlari bo&lsquo;lib o&lsquo;tdi va diplomatik korpusning kasbiy malakasini oshirish hamda zamonaviy tashqi siyosat, xalqaro munosabatlar va parlament diplomatiyasining dolzarb masalalarini muhokama qilishga qaratilgan edi.
Seminarning birinchi kunida Favqulodda va Muxtor Elchi, siyosiy fanlar doktori, professor Alisher Fayzullayev &ldquo;Zamonaviy diplomatik muzokaralar&rdquo; mavzusida ma&rsquo;ruza o&lsquo;qidi. U xalqaro tizim o&lsquo;zgarishlari sharoitida diplomatik muzokaralar olib borishning asosiy yondashuvlari va amaliy jihatlarini batafsil yoritib berdi.
So&lsquo;ngra iqtisod fanlari doktori, professor Nishanbay Sirojiddinov &ldquo;O&lsquo;zbekiston zamonaviy global va mintaqaviy integratsiya jarayonlarida&rdquo; mavzusidagi ma&rsquo;ruzasini taqdim etdi. U o&lsquo;z nutqida iqtisodiy diplomatiya va mamlakatning xalqaro integratsiya formatlaridagi ishtirokiga alohida e&rsquo;tibor qaratdi.
Seminarning ikkinchi kunidagi dastur tashqi siyosatning tahliliy va strategik masalalariga bag&lsquo;ishlandi. Our Services

Career guidance services include individual and group consultations aimed at supporting students in career planning, professional orientation, and preparation for employment. These services help students better understand their strengths, interests, and career goals, while providing practical tools for entering the labour market.

The support covers CV and cover letter preparation, interview skills development, and guidance on effective job search strategies. Students are also provided with up-to-date information on labour market trends, employer expectations, and in-demand skills, enabling them to make informed career decisions and enhance their employability.

The university organises skills development workshops and training sessions designed to enhance students' practical, applied, and transferable skills required in the modern labour market. These activities complement academic learning and help students develop competencies relevant to professional environments.

Workshops are conducted with the involvement of HR professionals, industry experts, representatives of leading companies, banks, public institutions, international organisations, and other external stakeholders. UWED also invites specialists from major employers, including representatives of the Big Four and other prominent organisations, to share professional insights, labour market expectations, and practical advice with students.

The sessions focus on areas such as communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, digital competencies, job search preparation, and broader professional development. UWED organises, coordinates, and monitors internship placements as an essential component of students' academic and professional development. Internship opportunities are provided through a broad network of partner organisations, ensuring that students gain practical experience aligned with their field of study and labour market requirements.

The university collaborates with a wide range of partners, including government institutions, ministries, international organisations, banks, research institutes, think tanks, and leading academic institutions. Key partners include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, as well as leading research centres and policy institutions.

A qualifying internship is a mandatory part of the academic programme for students in their 3rd and 4th years of study:
• for 3rd-year students – during the summer period;
• for 4th-year students – during the winter period.

The duration of the internship typically ranges from 5 to 10 weeks, depending on the programme and academic requirements.

UWED regularly organises structured career events designed to connect students and graduates with employers and to facilitate dialogue on labour market expectations, internship opportunities, and entry-level recruitment requirements. Over recent years, the format of these events has been progressively refined in response to stakeholder needs and feedback.

In 2023, the university held a university-wide Career Day in a job fair format, bringing together more than 75 public and private organisations. The event supported graduate employment and enabled direct interaction between students, graduates, and employers through employer booths, consultations, and interviews.

In 2024, UWED continued the university-wide Career Day / Job Fair format with participation of more than 50 leading organisations, including ministries, state agencies, banks, consulting firms, and private companies.

In 2025, UWED introduced a more targeted approach through faculty-based Career Days, allowing employers to engage directly with specific academic programmes and student profiles. In the same year, the university also launched [UWED Career Fair 2025](/news/1081) / Career Week, with a stronger focus on private-sector engagement, combining employer sessions, soft skills and career development activities, and a large-scale career fair with direct recruitment interaction.

These events provide students with direct exposure to professional environments, help them better understand current labour market expectations, and create opportunities for networking, career exploration, internship placement, and future employment. They also serve as an important platform for strengthening university-employer cooperation and expanding professional opportunities for students and graduates.

UWED supports student innovation, entrepreneurship, and project-based initiatives by creating opportunities for startup development, digital skills growth, and practical collaboration. Students are encouraged to turn ideas into projects, work in teams, strengthen entrepreneurial thinking, and engage with mentors and professionals from different sectors.

An important platform for this work is the [Digital Education and Startup Acceleration Center](/divisions/66), which was opened at UWED in 2022 as part of the university's broader efforts to strengthen digital transformation and student innovation. The centre operates as an educational and startup development unit under the university and contributes to the creation of a more dynamic and innovation-oriented campus environment.

Dedicated facilities have been allocated for the centre on campus, including a 60-seat interactive classroom, a meeting room for discussions and brainstorming, coworking space, and a specialised room for project presentations. These spaces provide students with a practical environment for collaboration, learning, and project development.

Through the centre, students can participate in consultations, competitions, hackathons, workshops, and incubation activities aimed at helping them refine ideas and develop viable startup projects. The centre also supports the development of practical skills in areas such as project design, business modelling, marketing, teamwork, communication, and presentation.

The Kelajakka Qadam Programme is a career-oriented educational initiative designed to support students in developing practical professional skills and preparing for successful entry into the labour market. The programme combines training sessions, mentoring, and practical career development activities to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional readiness.

UWED monitors graduate employment outcomes as part of its broader commitment to student development, employability, and institutional improvement. This work helps the university better understand graduates' career pathways, further studies, and transition to professional life, while also strengthening evidence-based support for current and future students.

The university regularly collects and analyses information on graduate employment, continuation to master's studies, and other post-graduation trajectories. At UWED, basic medical support is available to help maintain the health and wellbeing of students, academic staff, and administrative staff. Medical assistance is provided through the university's Campus Medical Room, which serves as an on-campus point for primary healthcare support and consultation.

The service offers initial assistance and guidance on health-related concerns, as well as recommendations for further medical care where necessary. In addition, the university promotes health awareness and encourages a healthy lifestyle through preventive and informational activities for students and staff.

At UWED, student wellbeing is supported not only through academic and social services, but also through access to essential health information and educational initiatives. The university promotes awareness and education on sexual and reproductive health as part of its broader commitment to creating a safe, informed, and supportive campus environment.

&nbsp; &nbsp; The UWED is committed to the SDGs and adheres to principles of engagement, ethical and legal compliance, transparency and information openness, social and environmental responsibility, innovative development, ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusivity. In doing so, the University has embarked on a journey that will help transform the university so that it will ensure its students, staff, graduates and stakeholders will ensure their impact will enable a more sustainable and equitable development of Uzbekistan and its contribution to world progress. It is a journey and UWED is learning how to adapt or change so as to meet the outcomes as well as the objectives of the SDG’s.

&nbsp; &nbsp; The University, from 2022 began the process of embedding the principles of sustainable development within its academic, research, and outreach activities. The university emphasises the integration of the SDGs into its curriculum and student initiatives, ranging from expanding its resource base to support volunteer projects and cultural events through to developing its collaboration with national and international organisations, civil society organisations, and private sector representatives to attract resources and expertise in support of the SDGs. Partnerships with public and private institutions create additional opportunities for students to participate in international projects and share experiences. This interaction helps the university to provide students with relevant knowledge and practical skills about SDG’s thereby enhancing their ability to meet the challenges of sustainable development.

&nbsp; &nbsp; SDG-oriented education at the UWED helps to foster responsible citizens and future leaders who are ready to contribute to the achievement of the SDG goals. Incorporating the principles of sustainable development into academic programmes and extracurricular activities creates an educational environment that promotes competencies for a sustainable future and raises students' awareness of the significance of their participation in progress towards the SDG goals.
