Representative of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China visited UWED

On September 7, 2026, an official meeting was held at the Center for the Study of Xi Jinping's Works at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy with Mr. Liu Haixing, Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Yu Jun, representatives of the PRC diplomatic mission, and the leadership and faculty of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and Rector of UWED, Sodyq Safoev, delivered a welcoming address to the guests, outlining the university's main areas of activity and providing the delegation with a detailed overview of the work of the Center for the Study of Xi Jinping's Works. He noted that the Center's activities are aimed at the in-depth study of contemporary political, economic, social, and humanitarian processes in China, as well as at fostering academic dialogue and expanding scientific and educational ties between Uzbekistan and China.

During the meeting, a substantive exchange of views took place on further strengthening cooperation in education, science, and the training of highly qualified specialists. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for developing joint research projects, academic exchanges, and educational initiatives that promote mutual understanding between the two countries.

A key part of the event was a presentation by UWED students. Speaking in Chinese, they shared their perspectives on the importance of studying the Chinese language for future specialists in international relations, diplomacy, and the world economy. The students emphasized that proficiency in Chinese opens up additional opportunities for professional communication, academic collaboration, and a deeper understanding of current developments in relations between Uzbekistan and China.

In conclusion, the parties expressed their mutual interest in further expanding interaction and implementing joint initiatives aimed at developing scientific and educational cooperation, as well as strengthening the friendly and strategic relations between Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China.
