    On October 18, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) organized a masterclass as part of the course International Relations in South Asia entitled “Energy Security in South Asia” for final-year students of the Faculty of International Relations.

    The keynote speaker was Mr. Artem Lomakin PhD Candidate in Political Science, MBA, Research Analyst. Artem Lomakin delivered a thoughtful lecture in which he detailed the importance of energy security in international relations, its particularities in South Asia, and its role in promoting peace and strengthening regional and global security. Particular attention was paid to the security and reliability of energy supplies to the growing markets of South Asian countries, as well as the priorities of regional states in ensuring access to energy resources as a key factor in development and national security.

    The session concluded with a dynamic discussion, during which students posed thoughtful questions. Mr. Lomakin responded with well-informed, experience-based insights, drawing from her international practice and expertise.
