On October 7, 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a presentation of a monograph on the role of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage in shaping the country's international policy and soft power tools. The author is the Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Philosophy Ganieva Shakhnoza Khotamovna.
The event was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors of foreign countries and heads of representative offices of international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, prominent representatives of scientific and academic circles, cultural and art figures, representatives of local and foreign media, and the teaching staff of UWED.
Speakers at the presentation noted the relevance of the monograph as a fundamental scientific study dedicated to the role of the historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the formation of the foreign policy image of the state.
It was emphasized that the study of "soft power" as a category of political influence is of particular importance for Uzbekistan, which has a unique heritage that goes deep into history. In this context, the monograph not only reveals the essence of cultural diplomacy, but also demonstrates how historical heritage is turning into a significant tool of foreign policy.
The research strategy is based on the study of collections in reputable museums and manuscript collections, many of which are provided for detailed analysis for the first time and represent an invaluable storehouse of information for researchers studying the culture and art of Uzbekistan from antiquity to the first half of the 20th century.
Each chapter of the monograph is based on a rich factual and analytical base, provided with references, comments and descriptions of artifacts. It is noteworthy that the work of S. Ganyeovy is not only a purely scientific study, but also a practical guide for specialists in foreign policy, cultural diplomacy, museum affairs and oriental studies. A number of provisions can be applied in the development of cultural strategies and diplomatic initiatives of Uzbekistan.
According to the participants of the event, the monograph "Heritage as a Factor of Soft Power Diplomacy of Uzbekistan. Territory of Meanings" is a significant contribution to the development of scientific thought about cultural diplomacy, reflecting the relationship between history, art and politics in the modern world.
