The University of World Economy and Diplomacy is actively developing joint programs with leading universities of the People’s Republic of China. As part of this initiative, second-year students of the Faculty of International Relations, Nurjakhon Saifiddinova and Asilbek Rustamov, participated in the SWUFE Global Academy Summer Program 2025, organized by the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) in Chengdu, China.

During the program, which took place from July 6 to 19, 2025, the students successfully completed various academic courses and special lectures on China’s economy, management, and culture. The participation of students from different countries contributed to international exchange and the broadening of cultural and academic knowledge.

As part of the academic module, the students explored key aspects of China’s economic development in depth, including the labor market, demographic changes, and international trade, through the course “Chinese Economy” led by Yale University Professor Jack Hou. They also gained both theoretical and practical knowledge in research methods, consumer psychology, and brand management during the course “Research Methodology in Management” taught by renowned marketing expert Professor Fang Wang from the University of Manitoba. Additionally, the seminar “Digital Rural Revitalization in China” delivered by Jiangyu Yu, focused on China’s digital transformation and strategies for rural development.

In addition to academic activities, the students actively participated in cultural events as part of the program. In particular, they visited historical and cultural landmarks in Chengdu, including the Chengdu Museum, the Shuijingfang Museum, the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and the Panda Research Center. These experiences allowed them to gain deeper insights into China’s rich historical heritage, national values, and modern development practices.

This participation represents an important step in UWED’s strategy for international cooperation and contributes to strengthening the university’s position in the global educational arena, preparing students within a leading international academic environment, and training competitive professionals in the field of international diplomacy.
