A classroom named after Professor Rahmon Farmonov has opened at UWED

A spiritual and educational event dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Rahmon Farmonov (1945–2025), was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event was attended by the university's faculty, students, colleagues, disciples, and family members of the scholar.

As part of the event, in accordance with a directive from the university rector, classroom A-222 in academic building “A” was named after Professor Rahmon Farmonov. The classroom was solemnly opened by Akram Umarov, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at UWED, and the professor's spouse, Muzayamma Farmonova.

A presentation of the book “The Motherland Begins in the Human Heart”, published in memory of the professor, also took place.

During the event, participants highlighted the scholar's academic and pedagogical activities, his rich academic legacy, and his contributions to the development of history, political science, international relations, and diplomacy.

Professor Rahmon Farmonov, who had worked at UWED since 1992, trained thousands of students and established his own academic school. Many of the students trained under his guidance are currently working in the fields of academia, diplomacy, and public administration.

At the event, students recited the professor's poems dedicated to the Motherland, kindness, and human values.

At the conclusion of the event, attendees emphasized the importance of continuing initiatives aimed at preserving the mentor's academic and spiritual legacy, as well as perpetuating the memory of professors who have made a worthy contribution to the university's development.
