UWED Students Take Part in a Roundtable Dedicated to the Memory of Repressed Representatives of the National Intelligentsia

Students and clinical practitioners of the Legal Clinic of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) took part in an educational roundtable dedicated to the memory of Sanjar Siddiq and Dilorom (Dinara) Yusupova, devoted representatives of the national intelligentsia who made significant contributions to the development of the national press and legal scholarship and were subjected to repression during the totalitarian period.

The visit and meeting were initiated by Z.S. Ubaydullayev, Director of the UWED Legal Clinic.

During the roundtable, speakers highlighted the life and legacy of Sanjar Siddiq, a prominent figure in literature and national journalism, as well as Dilorom Yusupova, one of the first women lawyers in Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to their contribution to public enlightenment and the development of the legal field.

The event provided students with an opportunity to learn more about the lives and professional journeys of representatives of the national intelligentsia who faced persecution during the years of repression. It also encouraged them to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of historical memory, justice, and preserving the legacy of previous generations in personal and professional development.

The initiative once again demonstrated that the UWED Legal Clinic serves not only as an important platform for developing the professional knowledge and skills of future lawyers, but also as an educational space dedicated to preserving national history, values, and historical memory.
