From Education to International Experience: UWED International Law Faculty Students New Achievements

In 2026, students of the Faculty of International Law at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy UWED actively participated in international educational programmes, summer schools, conferences, professional internships, and research projects, demonstrating their growing academic and professional potential and broadening their horizons through valuable international experiences.

The year brought a number of opportunities for students to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom. Amerkulova Munisaxon Odilovna participated in the “SWUFE RIEM Global Academy” summer school, organised by the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics SWUFE in Chengdu, China, from 13 to 23 July. The programme enabled her to deepen her knowledge of modern economics, global governance, and international relations in an international academic environment. Lola Jahongirova also took part in the “V4 Diplomatic Academy” international summer programme, held in Budapest, Hungary, from 28 June to 3 July and hosted by the Ludovika University of Public Service, where she explored diplomacy, international relations, regional cooperation, and contemporary geopolitical developments.

Our students’ achievements extend beyond participation in international programmes. They are also actively engaged in academic research and are making their contribution to the scholarly community. In particular, the research article by Madatov Saloxiddin, a second-year student of the Faculty of International Law, entitled “Issues of Ensuring Citizens’ Information Security in an Information Society,” was published in the journal “Huquq va Burch” under the academic supervision of Naubakhar Uzakbaeva.

International cultural and educational exchange has also become an important part of students’ development. Davronov Muhammadaziz participated in the ISWinT 2026 international student programme in Timișoara, Romania, from 29 July to 9 August, gaining valuable international experience and strengthening his intercultural communication skills.

Bobosharipov Shahboz and Nutfullayev Mirfayz participated in the “RCOY Central Asia 2026” conference in Samarkand from 4 to 6 September, where they discussed climate change, water security, climate justice, and sustainable development. On 7 July, second-year students of the Faculty also participated as volunteer interpreters in the First International Forum on Islamic Civilization, held under the theme “Islamic Civilization: A Path of Peace, Tolerance, and Knowledge.”     Some of the student volunteers were honoured with certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Students continued to gain international experience through specialised academic programmes. Hamroyev Avazbek Otabekovich, Abdujabborova Sarvinoz Umidjon qizi, Kojalepesova Dilfuza Bayronbay qizi, and Abdug‘afforova Gulira’no Zuhriddin qizi participated in a Chinese language summer school in Lanzhou, China, where they developed their Chinese language skills in an immersive environment and gained deeper insight into Chinese culture. Abdullayeva Dilafruz, Abdunazarova Jasmina, and Muhammadjonov Hojiakbar participated in the “Central Asia Jessup Summer School” in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from 3 to 7 August, strengthening their practical skills in public international law, legal analysis, public speaking, advocacy, and preparation for the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Our students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also successfully apply it in practice. Third-year students Abduvahobova Rayxona, Sulaymonova Gulinura, and Yunusov Oxunbobo are gaining professional experience through internships at the Bulungur District Court for Criminal Cases, the Koson District Prosecutor’s Office of Kashkadarya Region, and the Kogon Banking Services Center of JSC Xalq Bank, respectively. These opportunities allow students to connect academic knowledge with real professional practice and further develop the skills required for their future careers.

The international engagement of UWED students was further demonstrated by the participation of fourth-year students Shaxruz Tolibov and Sevara Qodirova in the OSCE Central Asia and Türkiye Youth Talks 2026 in Istanbul. Selected from more than 1,000 applicants, the 20 participants from Central Asia and Türkiye discussed artificial intelligence and security, youth participation in decision-making, entrepreneurship, and regional cooperation. The programme also provided opportunities for joint initiatives and projects, debates and presentations, and concluded with the adoption of the Youth Declaration. Participants additionally visited the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and KOSGEB, gaining insight into Türkiye’s experience in supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and international economic cooperation.

A particularly valuable example of combining academic knowledge with professional practice is the experience of Mirjahon Fayzullayev, a student of the Faculty of International Law, who completed a professional internship at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan from 8 August to 8 September. During his internship, he worked with diplomatic documents and analytical materials, contributed to consular matters, analysed Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan relations, developed practical proposals in the field of economic diplomacy, and participated in the organisation of official events. He also took part in the preparation and organisation of the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan on 23–24 August. His performance during the internship was rated “excellent,” and he was awarded a certificate of appreciation by B. Ashrafkhonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The achievements of UWED students in 2026 demonstrate that their development goes far beyond the classroom. Through international programmes, academic research, conferences, cultural exchange, and professional internships, students are strengthening their theoretical knowledge, gaining practical experience, developing foreign language and professional skills, and preparing themselves to contribute confidently and effectively to the international legal and professional community. At the Faculty of International Law, knowledge is continuously transformed into experience, opportunity, and a strong foundation for the future.
