To support the adaptation of first-year students admitted for the 2026/2027 academic year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy regularly organizes socio-psychological adaptation meetings, round tables, and seminars in its student dormitory.

These meetings are organized by the university psychologist, N. Norova, in collaboration with the Youth Union and the UWED Force public group. They aim to help students adapt to their new community, establish effective communication with peers, and foster a positive socio-psychological environment in the dormitory based on mutual respect and cooperation.

During the adaptation meetings held in the student dormitory, special attention is given to issues related to first-year students' adjustment to the new social environment, their community, and daily life in the dormitory.

In her address, university psychologist N. Norova emphasized that adapting to a new environment requires students to get used to new learning conditions and to communicate with people who have different worldviews and life experiences. She also noted that in a student dormitory, mutual respect, awareness of personal boundaries, adherence to common rules, and collective responsibility are of great importance.

The meetings cover topics such as integrating into a new community, establishing positive relationships with peers, respecting different opinions and views, and responding constructively to everyday situations.

Additionally, from a socio-psychological perspective, the meetings address students' adaptation to the academic environment, academic motivation, class participation, and the development of independent study skills.

Throughout the meetings and seminars, attention is paid to developing skills in active listening, expressing one's opinion clearly and respectfully, understanding another's point of view, and resolving disagreements constructively.

At the same time, recommendations are provided for recognizing and managing emotions during the adaptation period, coping with stressful situations, strengthening psychological resilience, and seeking psychological help when necessary.

Students are also informed about the option to consult the university psychologist, with services based on the principles of confidentiality, voluntariness, respect, and objectivity.

The meetings, regularly held in the student dormitory, are conducted as an open dialogue using an interactive approach, with first-year students actively participating by asking questions and sharing their opinions and suggestions on topics that interest them.

During these dialogues, issues related to daily life in the student dormitory, relationships with peers, acclimatizing to the new environment, mutual cooperation, psychological resilience, and academic engagement are discussed.

Such meetings not only foster students' independent thinking, communication skills, social engagement, and teamwork but also help them feel at ease and comfortable in the student dormitory.

The socio-psychological adaptation meetings and seminars regularly held with first-year students in the UWED student dormitory are a key component of a systematic effort aimed at supporting students' effective adaptation to their new environment, fostering healthy relationships among them, and actively involving them in university life.

These meetings and seminars are ongoing and serve to support students' adaptation to the new environment and their social and academic engagement, as well as to strengthen a positive socio-psychological atmosphere in the student dormitory, founded on mutual respect, trust, tolerance, and cooperation.
