Within the framework of the Second Forum of Sinology in Central Asia, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Central Asian Artificial Intelligence Association (AICA) and the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The document was signed by the Chairman of the Central Asian Artificial Intelligence Association, Vladimir Norov, and the Director of the Institute for Advanced International Studies, Dr. Akram Umarov. The signing of the memorandum became an important step in the development of interdisciplinary cooperation at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, international relations, and applied research and analytical studies.

The main goal of the memorandum is to establish an institutional foundation for cooperation between the parties in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital policy, and the preparation of analytical materials aimed at developing practical recommendations. The cooperation will be directed toward combining AICA’s applied expertise in artificial intelligence with the research potential of IAIS in matters of international relations, energy geopolitics, sustainable development, and economic diplomacy.

Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties intend to develop joint research and analytical studies, prepare policy recommendations, analytical reports, and expert materials on issues of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and their impact on international processes in Central Asia. Particular attention will be given to holding joint conferences, seminars, and round tables involving experts, researchers, and young specialists.

The parties also expressed interest in implementing joint projects with the research centers of IAIS. One of the promising areas of cooperation will be the preparation of interdisciplinary recommendations on issues of the digital economy, the regulation of artificial intelligence, and technological transformation in Central Asia.
