Table tennis competitions for the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Cup were held at UWED

In order to ensure the implementation of the tasks outlined by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan during his meeting with young people, as well as at the videoconference meeting dedicated to bringing the field of physical education and sports to a new level, widely engaging the population in mass sports, and improving the system of selection and sports training, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized a series of sports events as part of the “Wednesday — Sports Day” initiative.
At the beginning of the event, in order to widely promote sports, encourage a healthy lifestyle and actively involve young people in sports activities, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Table Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
This memorandum will contribute to the further development of the university’s sports infrastructure, support for talented athletes, and the wider popularization of table tennis among students, faculty members and staff.
Following the signing ceremony, a table tennis tournament for the Cup of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations was held among the university’s faculty members and staff. During the competition, participants demonstrated strong sports skills, agility and team spirit.
According to the results of the exciting and competitive matches, the winners among women were:
1st place — Odina Kudratova
2nd place — Iqboloy Narqulova
3rd place — Shahrizoda Miraliyeva
Among men, the winners were:
1st place — Anvar Sayfiddinov
2nd place — Nodirbek Egamberdiyev
3rd place — Shoxruxbek Abdujabborov
In addition, Adham Gafurovich Rasulov, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and a long-serving diplomat, was awarded first place in the nomination “Diplomat — Devoted to Sports”.
At the end of the event, the winners, prize-holders and active participants were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts.
The sports events served to promote a healthy lifestyle within the university community, increase the engagement of faculty and staff, and strengthen team spirit through sports.
