Open Dialogue “Leader and Youth” Held at UWED

An open dialogue titled “Leader and Youth” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy aimed at supporting students’ social initiatives, expanding their participation in local community activities, and explaining the new opportunities created within the neighborhood-based support system.
The event was attended by Furqat Mahmudkhojayev, Head of the Tashkent City Department of the Uzbekistan Mahalla Association, and Ilhom Alimov, Head of the Mirzo Ulugbek District Department of the Association, who held direct discussions with students.
During the meeting, participants were introduced to the essence and significance of the newly implemented “Seven Representatives” system operating within local communities. It was emphasized that the system, consisting of the mahalla chairperson, assistant hokim, youth leader, women’s activist, prevention inspector, tax inspector, and social worker, serves as an effective mechanism for addressing the needs and concerns of citizens, especially young people.
Students were also informed about social support measures, employment opportunities, encouragement of youth initiatives, and social projects implemented within local communities.
UWED students presented proposals on applying their knowledge in international relations, economics, and digital technologies to local community governance. In particular, initiatives related to digitalization processes, participation in social projects as volunteers, and organizing intellectual clubs for young people were discussed.
At the conclusion of the event, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the university and the Mahalla Association based on the proposals voiced during the open dialogue.
