On May 7 of this year, the university organized a spiritual and educational event titled “Eternal Memory” dedicated to May 9 — the Day of Remembrance and Honor. The main purpose of the event was to honor the memory of ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the Motherland and the peace of the people, express respect to war and labor veterans, and further strengthen feelings of patriotism, national loyalty, and respect for national values among the younger generation.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, members of the Mirzo Ulugbek District Council of Nuroniy, war and labor veterans, university professors, teachers, and students.

The event was opened by the university’s First Vice-Rector O. Yusufjonov. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of the Day of Remembrance and Honor, noting that respect for human dignity and honoring those who served the Motherland have always been an inseparable part of the nation’s values. He also highlighted the importance of honoring the elderly, benefiting from their life experience, and recognizing the invaluable role of veterans in educating young people.

During the event, guests spoke about the spiritual importance of remembrance and appreciation, the value of peace, and the education of youth in the spirit of patriotism and military devotion. Veterans shared stories from their lives and careers, encouraging young people to become educated, responsible, and devoted to their country.

The artistic part of the event also left a strong impression on the participants. Students recited poems dedicated to the Motherland, peace, and courage, while musical performances and theatrical scenes were presented. In particular, performances reflecting the bravery and selflessness of people during wartime deeply moved the audience.

At the end of the event, veterans were presented with commemorative gifts and letters of appreciation by the university administration. The “Eternal Memory” event left all participants with memorable impressions and a high spiritual spirit.
