Another significant academic achievement has been recorded within the framework of the UWED/IAS project “Migration from Central Asia to East Asia”, implemented under the supervision of Professor Timur Dadabayev, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The research article entitled “Aspirational Migration and Negotiated Belonging: Tajik Women, Faith and Gender in South Korea”, prepared as part of the project, has been published in the international academic journal “Studies of Transition States and Societies”.

The article examines the migration experiences of Tajik women living in South Korea, focusing on gender issues, religious identity and the formation of a sense of belonging within the host society.

The study considers migration not only as an economic and labour-related process, but also as a complex social phenomenon associated with pursuing education, achieving independence, accessing new opportunities and building a future.

The article also explores how Tajik women preserve their religious and cultural values in the context of migration, adapt to a new social environment and develop a distinct sense of belonging. This research makes an important contribution to the study of migration from Central Asia to East Asian countries, women’s mobility, religious identity, gender relations and intercultural adaptation.
