A master class on tort obligations and legal issues of damage compensation was held at UWED

On April 21 of the current year, a master class dedicated to one of the most relevant institutions of civil law - “The significance of tort obligations in the civil law of the Republic of Uzbekistan and prospects for their improvement” - was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The event was organized by Sherzodbek Masadikov, Head of the Department of Civil Law and Private International Law, and Professor Nargiza Raimova. It aimed to enhance students’ knowledge of non-contractual obligations through real-life cases and to analyze modern legal trends in compensation for damage caused to individuals and property.
The master class featured experts from the legal entity “Umid Advokatlari Hay’ati” - Akobir Sa’dullayev, Jamshid Nortojiyev, and Feruza Abdinazarova. Students of the Faculty of International Law actively participated, discussing key issues such as compensation for moral damage and proving loss of profit.
The meeting also focused on effective judicial mechanisms for resolving disputes arising from non-contractual relations. It was emphasized that this scientific and practical dialogue aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 - “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.” The importance of protecting personal and property rights as a key factor of legal stability was highlighted.
At the conclusion of the event, it was noted that the principles of SDG target 16.3 - “Ensuring the rule of law and equal access to justice” - are closely linked to guarantees for the restoration of violated rights. Such master classes contribute to developing an analytical approach among future lawyers to addressing the consequences of legal violations and restoring social justice.
