On March 25, 2026, the Department of Oriental Languages hosted a cultural and educational event that brought together enthusiasts of Japanese language and culture.  Participants included second and third-year students, as well as anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Students from various years immersed themselves in the study of Japan's unique heritage, with a special focus on its national cuisine. The highlight of the day was a workshop on preparing traditional dishes: norimaki and onigiri. Making the dishes themselves allowed students to better understand the lifestyle and aesthetic principles of the Japanese people. The creative and warm atmosphere of the event underscored the importance of extracurricular activities in developing intercultural communication skills and strengthening the academic motivation of UWED students.

Such initiatives by the department play a key role in building the intercultural competencies of future specialists and broadening their professional horizons.
