A master class on migration issues within the UN system was held at the Faculty of International Law

On March 11, 2026, a masterclass was organized for third-year students of the Faculty of International Law at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy within the framework of the course “Law of International Organizations.” The topic of the masterclass was “Specialized Agencies of the United Nations (with a focus on the activities of the International Organization for Migration),” and it was conducted with the participation of Saidahmad Akramovich Ishanxodjayev, Associate Professor at the A. Avloni National Institute of Pedagogical Excellence.
During the session, the main areas of activity of the International Organization for Migration were highlighted, including the safe and orderly management of migration processes, protection of migrants’ rights, reintegration of returning migrants, improvement of migration policies, as well as the provision of institutional and advisory support to states.
In addition, the masterclass included a detailed analysis of cooperation between the International Organization for Migration and the International Labour Organization. Within the framework of this cooperation, particular attention was paid to ensuring decent working conditions for labor migrants, protecting their rights, introducing fair recruitment mechanisms, preventing illegal labor exploitation, and strengthening social protection guarantees.
The event contributed not only to enhancing students’ theoretical knowledge of the activities of international organizations, migration law, and international labor standards, but also to reinforcing this knowledge through practical examples.
