A practical lesson on criminal cases was organized for UWED students at the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Criminal Court

On November 13 of this year, at the initiative of O. Yusupdjanov, First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and D. Soliev, Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Law and Public Law, a practical lesson on criminal cases was organized for second- and third-year students of the International Law Faculty at the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Criminal Court. This initiative aims to connect theoretical knowledge with practice and serves to enhance students' professional skills.
During the practical lesson, future international lawyers had the opportunity to become familiar with the practical application of Uzbekistan's national judicial system, criminal law, and criminal procedure legislation. Students gained a deep understanding of the judicial environment, court proceedings, the powers of trial participants, and judicial ethics. During the court hearing, students familiarized themselves with cases heard under the following articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
Article 276 of the Criminal Code: Illegal manufacture, acquisition, possession, and other actions involving narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances without intent to sell;
Article 1261 of the Criminal Code: Domestic violence.
During the hearings, students directly observed the examination of evidence, the questioning of witnesses, and listened to the prosecutor's indictment and the defense attorney's defense. This was of great practical importance, especially when studying the relationship between international and national law.
