University of World Economy and Diplomacy provides targeted support to students from vulnerable backgrounds

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy continues to support students facing difficult family and social circumstances, including those from vulnerable backgrounds, students with health challenges, and those who formally request financial assistance. The support package covers key areas such as food assistance, healthcare (free consultation and treatment in the university medical room), education (support with tuition/contract fees), and the ongoing provision of clean water and sanitation on campus.
UWED has institutionalized a system of targeted (needs-based) support for students requiring social, legal, and moral-psychological assistance. The approach aims to:
work individually with students in difficult life situations and facilitate their social inclusion;
organize social services and assistance at the faculty level for at-risk groups;
ensure sustainability of support measures and continuous protection of student rights;
strengthen transparency across all stages of assistance;
improve effectiveness by aligning support with student needs.
On 13 November 2025, the university—supported by volunteers from the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages—prepared social food packages for students experiencing financial hardship. On 14 November, the packages were delivered through faculty tutors in an ethical manner, without public display, ensuring dignity and sensitivity. The packages included essential staples intended to meet immediate daily needs.
This initiative reflects UWED’s commitment to an inclusive, student-centered environment and contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
