On December 19 of this year, a master class was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy for first-year students of the Faculty of International Relations within the framework of the course Political Science. The session was conducted by Azim Bakhtiyorovich Mukhamedjonov, Head of the Department for Cooperation with Compatriots of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the topic “Interaction with Compatriots Abroad and the Activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Supporting Them.”

During the lecture, Azim Mukhamedjonov provided detailed information on the structure and activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the work of the Department for Cooperation with Compatriots Abroad, and spoke about the reforms currently being implemented in this area. He emphasized that protecting the interests of compatriots abroad is a priority of the state policy, paying special attention to the consideration of appeals from citizens abroad, the provision of legal and consular assistance, and, when necessary, issues related to their repatriation.

In addition, in order to familiarize compatriots abroad with national values and traditions formed over the centuries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regularly organizes cultural days at Uzbekistan’s embassies in foreign countries. At the same time, Azim Mukhamedjonov noted that Uzbek schools have been opened for the children of compatriots abroad to promote national identity and further expand the use of the Uzbek language.

This meeting provided students with an opportunity to enrich their theoretical knowledge with practical examples. Such events contribute to strengthening cooperation between the university and government institutions, as well as enhancing the professional training of future specialists in the fields of international relations and political science.
