On December 20, 2025, the 18th annual student academic conference, which has become a unique academic tradition, opened at the Legal Clinic of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. This year, the conference was dedicated to the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 33rd anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Speakers included the Dean of the Faculty of International Law, S.A. Murataev, the Head of the Department of International Law and Public Law Disciplines, N.R. Kadirova and Z.S. Ubaydullaev, Head of the Legal Clinic, who emphasized the importance of this platform for enhancing the academic potential of future lawyers and ensuring the integration of theory and practice.

The conference was moderated by experienced experts: Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Private International Law I.A. Cherkashina and fourth-year student of the Faculty of International Law, S. Shamuratova.

The 18th scientific conference was distinguished by its broad range of topics and depth of analysis. Sixteen scientific papers prepared by students in Uzbek, English, and Russian analyzed the most pressing legal and social issues of our time.

In particular, the following areas attracted the attention of conference participants:

Human Rights and International Standards: The Legal Force of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Prospects for Creating a Regional Mechanism for the Protection of Human Rights in Asia (Asia: Toward the Creation of a Regional Mechanism for the Protection of Human Rights).

Digital Technologies and Law: Constitutional Protection of Humanity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Transformation of Uzbekistan's Economy, and the Problems of Gender-Based Digital Violence.

Social Protection and Integration: The Social Model of Disability, the Rights of Persons with Mental Illnesses, and the Protection of National Minorities.

Clinical Education and Practice: Using case studies of trustees of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy's Legal Clinic, prospects for studying inheritance law issues and practical skills in environmental law were explored.

Youth and Society: Proposals for improving child labor legislation (juvenile justice), the law on the Zulfiya State Prize, and the role of the Qaldirg'och Legal Clinic project in preventing youth violence were highlighted.

As the speakers noted at the end of the conference, the research proposals put forward based on the "From Text to Reality" principle are not only theoretically significant but are also, for the most part, intended for direct application in the work of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy's Legal Clinic. In particular, the analysis of the economic and legal risks associated with Uzbekistan's WTO membership in the context of global competition generated considerable interest among specialists.

At the end of the 18th annual conference, students who actively participated in the conference and submitted the best proposals were awarded special certificates.
