On November 19, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held an open master class for fourth-year students of the Faculty of International Relations as part of the “Environmental Policy” course. The session featured Mr. Ventseslav Sabev, Associate director of the Observatory on Security at the University of Geneva, who delivered a lecture titled on a “Nation Branding as a Foundation of Public Diplomacy: Identity, Values, and Soft Power.”

The master class aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the role of nation branding in modern public diplomacy and its contribution to shaping a country’s international image.

During the event, Mr. Sabev shared extensive insights from his professional experience in public diplomacy, international communication, and research on soft power. He highlighted the interconnection between nation branding and contemporary soft power instruments, emphasizing how a positive national image can influence foreign initiatives and strengthen international cooperation.

Mr. Sabev fostered an engaging and interactive speech, encouraging students to participate in discussions on global trends, the evolving dynamics of diplomacy, and the importance of values in promoting sustainable development.
