    On November 1, 2025, Andi Aranitasi, Director and Head of the Representative Office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Uzbekistan, delivered a lecture as part of the course “Contemporary International Affairs, World Economy and Uzbekistan Interests”.

    The topic of the lecture – “The Main Challenges for Transitional Economies” – was devoted to the key aspects of economic transformation in countries transitioning from centralized to market systems.

    In his speech, Mr. Aranitasi spoke about the role of the EBRD in supporting reforms in Uzbekistan, stressing the importance of liberalization, macroeconomic stabilization, institutional development and public administration reforms. He also noted that the current stage of transition requires not only the development of market mechanisms, but also the strengthening of the role of effective state institutions.

    Among the priorities are support for sustainable development, digitalization, inclusivity and climate initiatives.

    The lecture aroused keen interest among students and teachers, becoming a platform for discussing current trends in the world economy and the role of Uzbekistan in regional processes.
