A Master Class on International Road Freight Transport Was Held at The University of World Economy and Diplomacy

On 14 October 2025, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a master class on “International Road Transport of Goods” organised for third-year students of the Faculty of International Law.
The guest expert was Ismailova Ra’no, a practicing specialist in international transport law, lawyer, UNDP project manager, and Doctor of Philosophy in Legal Sciences (PhD).
During the master class, the lecturer covered in detail current issues related to the international legal regulation of road freight transport, based on the provisions of the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR, 1956) and the Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (1975). Particular attention was paid to judicial practice and typical disputes arising in the performance of international freight transport contracts.
Professor Dilfuza Imamova, of the Department of Civil Law and International Private Law at UWED emphasised the importance of the topic in the context of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), noting its connection with the need to develop international cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.
The students showed great interest in the issues discussed, actively participated in the discussion, asked questions about the legal aspects of international transport, and received detailed answers.
The event contributed to strengthening academic dialogue, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and expanding international educational cooperation. The master class was held as part of the implementation of SDG 17 “Partnerships for sustainable development”, specifically paragraph 17.6, which provides for the strengthening of international cooperation in science, technology and innovation.
