    On October 10 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted the opening ceremony of the International Summit of Young Researchers on the theme “Strengthening Interregional Cooperation and Developing Youth Leadership for Sustainable Peace”.

    The event brought together a truly interregional audience: active students from Tashkent and their colleagues from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. They were joined by young researchers, leaders of student communities, mentors and experts, creating a rich environment for the exchange of experience and the launch of joint projects.

    A significant contribution to the summit was the participation of representatives of government agencies: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy, as well as a number of specialized institutes and think tanks.

    At the opening ceremony, speeches were made by the heads of UWED, outlining the practical agenda of the summit:

    • Deepening interregional cooperation;

    • Development of youth leadership;

    • Exchange of best educational and research practices.

    The key priority is to move from discussions to concrete actions. The work will be carried out within the framework of thematic committees (CIS, SCO, EU, OTS), where participants will focus on the development of applied solutions in the areas of cultural and digital diplomacy, employment and skills development, as well as on the preparation of final youth resolutions.

    High competition in the selection of participants and the representation of key institutes confirm the growing demand for scientific and practical dialogue and joint projects. The summit is designed to become a launching pad for inter-university teams that will continue to work on their initiatives after its completion.
