UWED welcomes exchange students and international professors at the start of the new academic year

On September 12, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held an Orientation Day and an information session for incoming international students and professors.
This semester, UWED welcomed exchange students from the Republic of Korea and Japan - second- and third-year undergraduate students. They arrived from Hitotsubashi University (Japan), Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (Japan), and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Korea). In addition, a master’s degree student from the OSCE Academy in Bishkek joined UWED this semester through an exchange program.
Furthermore, as part of the “Princeton in Asia” (PiA) program, two professors from the United States joined UWED, along with a professor from Austria within the framework of the “GURES” program.
During the event, the guests learned more about the university’s activities, its academic opportunities, and programs presented by the staff of the Office of International Academic Cooperation.
International students and professors also met their partners under the “Buddy Program.” The buddies are talented UWED students who successfully passed a competitive selection process. Throughout the semester, they will help international students and professors adapt to university life, explore the culture and traditions of Uzbekistan, and feel part of the UWED community.
We are delighted to welcome new students and professors to our university and are confident that they will gain valuable academic and cultural experiences, along with bright impressions and exciting discoveries.
