UWED Discusses Prospects for Cooperation with Hungary

On September 10 of this year, Deputy State Secretary of the Office of the Political Director of the Prime Minister of Hungary Márton Ugrosdy paid a working visit to the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
On the part of the UWED, the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev and the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akram Umarov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the guest was told in detail about the activities of UWED, ongoing educational programs and key areas of scientific research. The successful cooperation of the university with leading higher educational institutions and research institutes of Hungary was emphasized.
During the talks, the parties discussed specific prospects for expanding bilateral partnership. Among the key initiatives:
• Development of joint programs for academic exchange of students;
• Implementation of projects to improve the qualifications of faculty and administrative staff;
• Active development of joint scientific research;
• Establishment of partnerships between Hungarian think tanks and the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IPMR) at UWED.
Special attention was paid to the creation of visiting fellowship programs, which will work on a bilateral basis for the exchange of researchers and teachers.
The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. The parties expressed strong interest in the practical implementation of all the discussed initiatives and further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.
