A meeting with the Ambassador of Turkey to Uzbekistan was held at UWED

On April 24, 2024, a meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ufuk Ulutaş.
The main purpose of the event was to discuss the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between UWED and leading higher education institutions, as well as analytical centers in Turkey.
During the meeting, the positive dynamics of Uzbek-Turkish relations was noted, especially in the field of education and scientific exchanges. The participants expressed their gratitude to the Embassy of Turkey for supporting UWED initiatives, including the organization of academic and cultural exchange programs with the participation of Turkish volunteers.
Particular emphasis was placed on the growing interest in the Turkish language and culture: currently, 120 UWED students are studying Turkish as a second foreign language.
At the meeting, the achievements of cooperation with such Turkish universities as the following were presented:
- Ibn Khaldun University,
- Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University,
- Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University,
and a new agreement was signed with Marmara University. In addition, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation, including academic exchanges, joint research and the development of educational programs.
Ambassador Ufuk Ulutaş emphasized Turkey's interest in further strengthening the partnership and expressed readiness to contribute to the establishment of ties between universities and think tanks of the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to deepen cooperation in the field of education and diplomatic training, noting the significant potential for the implementation of new joint projects.
