    The International Round Table on “Sustainable Development, Medicine, Geopolitics” was held at UWED

    On September 3 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an International Round Table on the topical topic: “Sustainable Development, Medicine, Geopolitics”. The event has become an authoritative platform for dialogue between experts from various fields.

    The round table was attended by prominent international figures, including Armen Sarkissian, the fourth President of the Republic of Armenia, and Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Chairman of the International Medical Council of the National University of Singapore. Representatives of state bodies and public administration, international organizations, the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan, as well as leading scientists and experts from the scientific community of Uzbekistan and foreign countries also joined the discussion.

    Opening the event, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev made a welcoming speech, in which he emphasized the growing role of an interdisciplinary approach to solving global challenges of our time. He noted that the issues of sustainable development, healthcare and geopolitical dynamics are inextricably linked and require joint efforts of the international expert community.

    The participants of the round table considered in detail the economic, political and cultural aspects of global changes. The focus was on the growing influence of Asian countries, changes in the balance of power on the world stage and challenges to the existing world order. Experts discussed the competition of economic and technological models, differences in value approaches, as well as prospects for constructive interaction and cooperation between East and West in the new historical era.

    Holding this round table within the walls of the UWED confirmed the status of the university as a leading platform for in-depth and meaningful discussion of the most pressing issues on the global agenda. The event contributed to strengthening interdisciplinary dialogue and developing constructive proposals for solving complex problems at the intersection of economics, politics and health.
