A representative of UWED took part in the round table “SCO in practice: initiatives of New Uzbekistan”

As you know, from August 31 to September 1 of this year, the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the summit in the SCO plus format were held in the Chinese city of Tianjin. The head of our state took part in them with a report containing a number of important proposals and initiatives on global issues both within the organization and at the international level.
In order to popularize and convey to the general public the essence and significance of new proposals and initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the summit in Tianjin, on September 4 this year, a round table was held at the National University of Uzbekistan on the topic “SCO in practice: initiatives of New Uzbekistan”.
The event was organized by the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan and the Department of Contemporary History of Uzbekistan of the Faculty of History of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
The round table was attended by representatives of more than 20 state and non-governmental organizations. Among them: representatives of government agencies and public organizations, deputies of both chambers of the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan, experts and journalists. The event was also attended as an expert by the holder of the title "People's Diplomat", Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the UWED Sultanova E.S.
The event focused on the essence of important initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at strengthening the political foundations of the SCO, expanding cooperation in the field of regional security, developing economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, the head of state stressed that strengthening friendship and expanding cooperation with the SCO states remain priority areas of Uzbekistan's foreign policy.
In addition, it was emphasized that cultural and humanitarian interaction remains one of the pillars of the Organization, contributing to the rapprochement of peoples and deepening partnership in the spirit of mutual respect and learning.
During the discussion, the experts of the round table reiterated that the Tianjin summit once again demonstrated the active position of Uzbekistan in regional and global issues, and the broad international support for Uzbekistan's initiatives testifies to the growing authority of the country.
