On June 21–22, Urumqi (China) hosted a forum of the China-Central Asia Member States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) entitled "Towards a Community of Common Health for Humanity".
This large-scale event brought together about 40 leading experts, politicians and researchers from the SCO and Central Asian countries, including representatives of government agencies, academia and international organizations.
Participants discussed key global health issues, such as:
- strengthening international cooperation in the fight against pandemics and infectious diseases;
- development of the healthcare system and digital medicine;
- Ensuring universal access to quality health care;
- environmental aspects of public health.
On behalf of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Associate Professor of the Department of International Economics S. Turaeva took part in the forum. In her speech, she shared her expert opinion on the role of economic cooperation in creating sustainable healthcare systems, and also discussed the prospects for cooperation between the SCO countries in this area.
The Forum has become an important platform for the exchange of experience and the development of joint solutions aimed at strengthening global health security. Its results can serve as a basis for new international initiatives within the framework of the SCO and the China-Central Asia partnership.
