    UWED Hosted a Meeting with the Education Counsellor of the Embassy of Türkiye in Uzbekistan

    On May 28, a meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) with Mr. Ebubekir Aydın, Education Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Uzbekistan. The meeting aimed to further strengthen academic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye. Representatives from UWED and the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) participated in the discussion.

    The UWED delegation was led by Dr. Akram Umarov, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Director of IAIS. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Durbek Amanov, Head of the Center for European Studies.

    The primary focus of the discussion was on expanding academic exchange between UWED and leading universities in Türkiye. Mr. Aydın expressed keen interest in enhancing educational cooperation and gave positive feedback on proposals to establish new exchange programs and formalize inter-university partnerships.

    The parties also discussed initiatives such as launching joint research projects, organizing academic conferences and seminars, and involving Turkish professors in teaching activities at UWED. A key agenda item was the proposal to create a Turkish-Uzbek Research Forum, aimed at fostering scientific dialogue, developing intercultural competencies, and promoting collaborative research between scholars of both countries.

    The participants also discussed ways for UWED to take part in educational programs and initiatives in Türkiye, and talked about the next steps to develop stronger cooperation between the two countries.

    At the end of the meeting, everyone confirmed their commitment to working together and highlighted the importance of academic partnerships in building stronger cultural and scientific connections between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
