UWED Rector took part in Uzbek-American business forum

On June 9 of this year, within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the Uzbek-American Business Forum was held today - a significant event in the history of bilateral economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
The business forum is organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan (MIPT) together with the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce (AUCC).
The event was attended by over 150 representatives of business and government circles of both countries, including about 100 leading American companies representing industries such as industry, digitalization, agriculture, energy, finance and healthcare. Among the participants are the heads of Boeing, Visa, Coca-Cola, Medtronic, John Deere, CNH, Morgan Stanley, NASDAQ, Abbott, investment funds and universities, as well as representatives of US law, engineering and technology firms.
From the Uzbek side, the forum was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev, as well as heads of sectoral ministries and departments.
Speaking at the forum, Sodyq Safoev noted that the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years contribute to the renewal of society, the country is confidently moving along the path of large-scale transformations aimed at comprehensive political and economic modernization.
The program of the forum included a presentation of the investment potential of Uzbekistan, bilateral meetings in the G2B format. Prospects for expanding trade and economic ties, implementing joint projects and deepening institutional cooperation were discussed.
Success stories of individual American companies (FLSmidth, New Holland Agriculture, Visa, IDCA, John Deere, Coca-Cola) in Uzbekistan became the subject of special attention at the forum.
The Forum confirmed the high interest of both sides in deepening cooperation in such priority areas as:
- "green" energy;
- food industry and agricultural sector;
- health care and pharmaceuticals;
- IT and digital infrastructure;
- financial technologies;
- industrial production and mechanical engineering.
The Uzbek-American business forum was a significant step towards further expanding the strategic partnership between the countries, reaffirming Uzbekistan's role as a reliable economic and investment partner of the United States in Central Asia.
