The Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland, Michał Kamiński, visited UWED

On May 6th of this year, a meeting took place between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Sodyq Safoev, and Michał Kamiński, the Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland.
At the beginning of the meeting, M. Kamiński was given a detailed briefing on the university’s activities, ongoing research, and educational programs. The opportunities of the “Executive Education” faculty in organizing courses for representatives of the public and private sectors were highlighted.
The Rector of UWED also emphasized the importance of the scientific component of bilateral relations and pointed out issues such as religion, radicalization, security, transnational threats, economy, energy, and the achievement of sustainable development goals as priority areas for joint research.
Both sides noted their expectations for the sustainable development of cooperation in academic and student exchanges, the creation of a bridge between the student communities of both countries, and the preparation and further training of diplomats.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Polish official met with UWED students, where he emphasized the positive dynamics in the development of Uzbek-Polish relations.
As a result of the visit by the Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland, an agreement was reached to develop academic and scientific ties between UWED and Poland’s leading think tanks and educational institutions.
