UWED Hosts an Educational and Awareness-Raising Event on “Peace Is the Greatest Blessing” and “Combating Ignorance Through Enlightenment!”

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), in cooperation with the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized an educational and awareness-raising event on the themes “Peace Is the Greatest Blessing” and “Combating Ignorance Through Enlightenment!” The event aimed to encourage students to appreciate peace and stability, strengthen religious tolerance, promote a well-informed and balanced worldview, and foster an understanding of the role of education and enlightenment in countering ignorance and various harmful ideologies.

During the event, participants exchanged views on the importance of peace and stability in promoting social development, ensuring human well-being, and creating favorable conditions for the future of younger generations. It was emphasized that preserving peace, appreciating the atmosphere of stability and harmony prevailing in the country, and upholding the principles of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance are important responsibilities of every citizen.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening students' moral and intellectual resilience, protecting young people from the influence of harmful ideologies, extremist views, and misinformation, and raising awareness of potential threats in the information environment. The discussions also highlighted the importance of developing critical thinking skills that enable students to identify risks, evaluate information objectively, and resist harmful influences.

As part of the discussion on “Combating Ignorance Through Enlightenment!”, participants explored the essential role of knowledge and education in personal development and social progress. The importance of encouraging young people to pursue education, think independently, and develop the ability to critically analyze information from various sources was emphasized. The discussions also underscored the relevance of fostering a worldview based on religious tolerance, mutual respect, humanism, and enlightenment.
