UWED hosted a “Meeting of a Female Leader and Youth”

On May 5 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a “Meeting of a Female Leader and Youth” with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister - Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women's Affairs Zulaykho Makhkamova.
The event was organized as part of an important initiative aimed at increasing the role and activity of young people in the areas of public administration, social development and gender equality.
The main goal of the meeting was to establish an open and sincere dialogue with representatives of the younger generation, answer their questions, and to instill in young people a spirit of social responsibility, leadership and dedication.
During the event, Zulaykho Makhkamova addressed the youth and spoke about the tasks, opportunities and trust placed on them at a new stage in the development of Uzbekistan. She especially emphasized the youth policy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in particular reforms aimed at girls' education, their professional orientation, employment and increased activity in society.
The following issues were discussed at the meeting:
• Mechanisms for increasing the leadership potential of young people and preparing them for leadership positions;
• Expanding opportunities for girls to access higher education, supporting their active participation in STEM areas;
• Existing opportunities for providing employment for young people, orienting them towards entrepreneurship and innovation;
• Strengthening social activity among women, improving legal culture and ensuring gender equality.
The students directly asked questions of interest to them, expressed their opinions and suggestions. Among the important issues they raised were negative trends in social networks, loss of motivation in education and mechanisms for supporting talented young people.
Following the event, the students were given recommendations on active participation in state and public administration, developing leadership skills in social projects and continuous work on themselves. The students acknowledged that such meetings are a great source of inspiration and motivation for young people.
In addition, 15 participants of the event were awarded certificates on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women's Issues Z. Makhkamova and Chairperson of the Women's Advisory Council, Professor E.S. Sultanova. Professor E.S. Sultanova was also presented with a letter of gratitude for holding an event dedicated to women in science at a high level.
