The role of AI in international diplomacy was discussed at UWED

On May 2 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in International Diplomacy: Trends and Challenges”.
The conference was co-organized with the Central Asian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AICA) and brought together AI experts, government officials, diplomats, and scientists.
The event was attended by the leadership of UWED, AICA Chairman Vladimir Norov in the videoconferencing format, as well as the faculty, students and doctoral students of the university.
The main goal was to discuss the potential and risks of introducing artificial intelligence in the field of international relations, foreign policy strategy and diplomatic practice.
Particular attention was paid to the development of specific recommendations for the use of modern digital technologies in diplomacy.
The event included three thematic sessions covering key aspects of the interaction between technology and foreign policy.
During the discussions, it was noted that today the use of AI tools to improve efficiency is becoming more relevant than ever, especially in the context of creating innovative solutions in the Uzbek language and introducing them into various professional fields.
At the end of the event, practical examples of the work of AI were demonstrated, the participants exchanged international experience, and also discussed the prospects for cooperation between government agencies and the technological community. Also, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UWED and the Central Asian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AICA).
The international conference was an important step towards integrating innovative solutions into the diplomatic practice of Uzbekistan and strengthening its position in the global digital agenda.
