UWED Hosts Meeting with Representatives of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

On October 9, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a meeting with a delegation of professors and academic staff from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Held at the Xi Jinping Corner of the University, the event aimed to promote academic dialogue, facilitate the exchange of expert views on pressing issues in international relations, and explore opportunities for strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between the two institutions.
As part of the meeting, a scientific and practical seminar was held, during which participants discussed the key priorities of the People's Republic of China's foreign policy, current trends in the country's socioeconomic development, and China's growing role in international relations and global trade.
Particular attention was paid to the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and the enhancement of regional connectivity between China and Central Asian countries. In this context, participants examined the strategic importance of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project, including its potential to expand trade and economic cooperation, strengthen the region's transit capacity, and establish new transport routes.
Another key focus of the meeting was the discussion of prospects for further institutional cooperation between UWED and CASS. The parties explored opportunities to jointly organize international academic conferences, expert discussions, and scientific and practical seminars, as well as to promote academic exchanges and strengthen cooperation between the academic staff of both institutions.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their mutual interest in maintaining constructive dialogue and further developing cooperation in education and scientific research.
